Betting Review & Available Markets
Unibet has an excellent range of sports to bet on and they include a number of sports that may not be so popular elsewhere, such as Netball, Pesapallo, Poker, Surfing and Trotting.
The company also offers a very good Winter sports betting service when compared to other sites, partly due to the company first growing in popularity in central Europe and Scandinavia.
Soccer however is its most prominent market with thousands more bets than any other sports. As Unibet isn’t a Uk-based bookmaker, their horse racing offers are not that well-developed, but they do offer better developed betting on Basketball, Ice Hockey and Handball as well as detailed coverage of all the other top sports such as American Football, Golf, Tennis, Darts and Snooker. The company also offers a very impressive esports betting section.
Unibet Football Betting
Unibet offers an extensive football betting service that incorporates a huge number of matches from around the globe and a massive number of markets.
It is by far and away the biggest and most important betting market on the site with tens of thousands of markets available daily and a healthy number of the reported 15 million or so customers with Unibet tend to do the majority of their betting on football markets.
- In Play Free Bet Club – Place five £10 In Play bets on football throughout the course of a week with Unibet and as a member of the Free Bet Club, you will receive a £10 In Play free bet every week you meet the criteria.
- £30 Cashback with 90+ Goals – Place a bet on the Correct Score, Half Time/Full Time, First Goalscorer or Last Goalscorer market with Unibet of between £5 and £30 and if a goal is scored after the 90th minute and your bet loses, Unibet will refund your bet.
- Acca Rush – Opt in to this promotion before Friday and place a five-fold accumulator on Premier League Match Result markets and if your acca wins, then Unibet will add 25% extra to your profit to boost your winnings.
Unibet Horse Racing Betting
Unlike UK bookmakers that are heavily reliant on income from horseracing betting, Unibet sees horseracing as very much a secondary betting source and their coverage of the sport is considerably less detailed than that you would find on a UK-based site.
Horse Racing is easy to locate in the middle of the A-Z sport listing and clicking on that brings up a basic menu of races taking place that day you can bet on.
One important thing to note is that you don’t tend to have a huge amount of betting options for horse racing with Unibet as the company tend to offer simply the standard Win and Each Way bets, multiple bets and Forecast/Tricast bets. Many of the other bets available with UK bookmakers are simply not available.
Horse Racing Promotions
Unibet does not offer any specific promotions for horse racing.
Unibet offers an excellent live streaming service that is available to both its desktop customers and those that access the site via mobile. The company offers over 10,000 live streams a year to customers through this service.
A wide range of sports are covered by Unibet including football, tennis, snooker, basketball, baseball, ice hockey and table tennis. Unibet’s live streaming service is available to all customers with a credit balance in their account.
Furthermore, live streams of horse races are also available to customers that have placed a bet of £1 or more on the race in question. The live stream for that race is available on the streaming service from just a few minutes before the start of the race.
Unibet organises its live streams in a very user-friendly way, by time and by dividing the events into blocks of time, so you can see events that are currently taking place, those that will start within an hour, those that will start within 2 hours and so on. This makes finding events to watch extremely easy.
Unibet Mobile App
Unibet offer a simple and easy to follow mobile service for sports betting. There is an app available for all iOS devices (iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch) which can be downloaded from the App Store while for Android devices, you can download an app for your chosen device from www.unibet.co.uk/apps/betting.
In addition to the standard sports betting app, iPhone and iPad users can also download the Unibet BETUP app, which allows you to bet on a number of sporting markets based on a live football match in real time. Collect points for predicting events correctly and the more points you win, the higher up the table you will finish and the greater the prize available to be won.
What’s good about the Unibet app?
Unibet’s app is simple, easy to use and follow and is available across the most popular devices. It is nice to see support for Apple Watch is included alongside that for iPad and iPhone. The lobby is easy to use and it is a friendly interface for customers to scroll through until they find the sport and betting markets that they want to back. The In Play service is excellent and the live streaming service is also one of the best and most reliable you can find on mobile.
What’s not so great about the Unibet app?
It is a little disappointing to see that Unibet doesn’t yet offer support for handsets and tablets beyond the main two, Windows phones for example are not supported. There are also the occasional glitches experienced from time to time when the app can just stop functioning and you need to click out of it on your phone and restart it. This can be frustrating at times when betting, especially In Play. However to be fair, this glitch is not a regular occurrence and is more a petty annoyance than a real grievance.

Unibet Bonus Review
Unibet offer new customers a somewhat different welcome bonus when they sign up in the form of a £30 risk free bet as their first bet with the company. This isn’t the biggest bonus available, or the greatest value in truth, but it does offer punters a chance to land a £30 bet risk free.
The main condition to note for this offer is that the qualifying bet must be your first bet and must be placed on a market of odds of 1.4 or greater. The minimum deposit and first bet to qualify for the offer and the maximum bet you can make is £30.
Here’s an easy to follow walkthrough on how to sign up and claim the Unibet welcome bonus.
- Load up the Unibet website and click on the green Register button in the top right hand corner of the screen.
- Follow the four step process, entering in the required details at each stage in order to sign up with Unibet and activate your account.
- Once your account has been activated, log in to your account with your email or username and your chosen password.
- Click on the green Deposit option and enter a payment method. Once you have done this make your deposit of £10 to £30 into your Unibet account.
- Once the funds are in your account, peruse the list of sports bets with Unibet that you may be interested in betting on. Remember you need to ensure that the first bet you place is between £10 and £30 in size and is on a market of odds of 1.4 or better.
- Once you have decided on a bet, click on the odds to add it to your bet slip, enter your wager of up to £30 and click Place Bet.
- When the result of your bet is known you will either receive your winnings if your bet was successful, if not Unibet will refund your stake in full as a free bet.
- Your free bet must be wagered a minimum of 3 times in order to be withdrawn and these wagering requirements must be met within 30 days.
Positive Points – There are lots of positive points to Unibet. Their football service is excellent and their coverage of sports that are not so well covered by UK-based companies, such as Winter Sports for example, is also excellent.
The site offers a decent number of football promotions and its site and apps are well designed and easy to use. Placing a bet is very simple and its live streaming service is certainly on a par, if not better, than many others offered by its competitors.
What Needs to be Improved? – Where Unibet doesn’t score well for UK customers is in a relatively simplistic horse racing betting service, an introductory offer which doesn’t really offer the customer particularly great value and a distinct lack of promotions beyond football and tennis which does mean that in terms of long term value, Unibet is lacking compared to some of its major competitors.
Unibet Rating: 3.5/5
